Portraits of Paris
I've always been attracted to portraits of any kind. Antique, vintage, new...it doesn't matter. There is something so enticing about the human form, and particularly the face. I have a small colleciton of portraits at my home including two of myself--one by an artist friend and another small pencil portrait my Great Aunt commissioned as a high school graduation gift for me. I love the idea of having a portrait made in commemoration of a special event.
While in Paris, I toured several mansions and palaces as well as shopped many galleries and Les Puces. At each of these places I noticed stunning portraits which made me want to add to my collection! However, I am determined to purchase pieces of higher quality and perhaps more provenance. I am currently saving up for an oil. I haven't found "the one" yet, but I want to be prepared when I do.
As I go through all of my photos from my Paris trips, I will be sharing more of my inspirations here on the blog. I am also constantly sharing photos from my travels on my instagram account @andrewskippereveryday. Have to go for now but I will write more later!
Ciao,
Andrew
